I.F. Capable

And for this weeks illustration Friday, the wonderfully
capable Foxy is piloting his helicopter around the city.

Markets and Birdcages

Hi all,  I've been away for a bit riding elephants up in Chiang Mai! Am back now though and here's my last two illustrations for the Phuket News. The colouring competition is still proving very popular amongst the kids of Phuket. There's been so many entries in fact that the entry deadline has now been extended to every two weeks. I continue to be inspired by life around me and feel a book coming along with all these illos!

The fish stall always amazes me at the market. All the little creatures
displayed side by side. And crisps on a stick one of my favourite snacks!
A popular pastime in rural Thailand is holding bird singing contests.
Many keep these birds as their pets and hang the beautiful
cages outside homes and shops. I couldn't resist putting
in a cheeky cat ;)
And the last win went to 7 year old Grace Hiranyakas
from  Kajonkiet International school. I love the way she added  helmets
to my dogs in the side car to promote a safer Thailand!
 Also just great colouring skills!

The Phuket Colouring Competiton

This week i'm delighted to say I have a new illustration commission out here in Phuket.
With thanks to my lovely neighbour and editor of the Phuket News, I'll be providing an illustration a week for kids to colour in and I'll be judging and featuring the best entries!

I'm really excited about this new opportunity as ever since I got here I've felt totally inspired by this place! First up for the kids to colour in is a dog. There are so many around Phuket and their little characters may just be my new obsession!

A little fellow who caught my eye...

A school commute and my first winner!

So I'm entering the 3rd week since I started working for the Phuket News on their mega exciting weekly colouring competition. I'm really enjoying this job as it gets me drawing all the things I love about Phuket! I also get sent all the entries from schools around Phuket and I have to say there's some good little artists out there!

This weeks image was inspired by my daily ventures out on the moped.
The streets here are full of kids on
their way to and back from school, often sitting in a little side-car of some sort. So cute!
Last weeks win goes to 9 year old Laura from Darasamuth School.
I loved her clever reflection of the hills in Dogs sunglasses and the rainbow T. Brill
!
