Etsy Crafts

Here they are, the first of my downloadable items for Etsy! First up The Origami Dog set. I've been making these for my daughter for a while. They're super simple to fold and I've added a little 'To and From' on the back so pop them in the post and make someone smile :)

Buy the PDF now from PetitRigolo on Etsy

See a video of how to make them here

Dog World

Here are the latest collated dog doodles from my sketchbook.
A screen print on the horizon me thinks? ...

I know... maybe I should stop drawing dogs...
but they're all so different and  funny and cute!
P.S. Spot the Frankenstein dog :)

I.F. Vocal

My! Has it been this long since I last posted? Shocking! Lets put a stop to that with this weeks I.F. Vocal. This came from a sketch for a Phuket News illo I've been working on this week about the Thailand Karaoke scene! They just love any excuse to get up on stage here and have a little boogie!

Other news- I've been working on this months Tigerprint "Playtime, Fun Time" competition entry (soon to be posted) and all my Phuket News illo's are to be made into a real colouring book! So, watch this space!

The Phuket Colouring Competition

This week i'm delighted to say I have a new illustration commission out here in Phuket.
With thanks to my lovely neighbour and editor of the Phuket News, I'll be providing an illustration a week for kids to colour in and I'll be judging and featuring the best entries!

I'm really excited about this new opportunity as ever since I got here I've felt totally inspired by this place! First up for the kids to colour in is a dog. There are so many around Phuket and their little characters may just be my new obsession!

A little fellow who caught my eye...

Tigerprint Competition- What is love?

Last week I  managed to enter the latest "What is love" Tigerprint competition. In the nick of time (I stayed up a little late friday night!) and here are my designs. You can also view them on the Tigerprint blog  http://tigerprint.typepad.com/photos/w/page/9/   along with all the other entries. Tough competition I might add! I shall be entering more of these though. Much fun!

My Studio

Here's a little peak at my desk space and how I work. Its all rather new! I moved to Thailand from Brighton in October which is very exciting! I took with me only a laptop and my trusty Wacom! (that's not true I'm not a complete geek, I did take a few other things ;)  but delighted to say pens and paper you can get anywhere in the world!

I don't keep sketchbooks as I like to draw on loose paper. I use brush and ink, pencils, gel pens, markers or biros depending on my mood! I then scan them in and apply colour using Photoshop. I keep my sketches in files and sometimes on the wall. If I'm developing a character it helps to have him in front of me doing different things. Like a separate world I delve in and out of!

My friend sent me these stickers recently from the UK.
Thanks Karen, I love them! I particularly like the "Alright love" one. Reminds me of home :)

Occasionally I draw my husband little pictures of what's on my mind.
This Christmas, we're off to Ko Yao to stay in a wooden beach hut.
I'm most looking forward to the hammocks!
